1. Well-qualified Faculty: More than 75 percent of our 67 full-time teachers hold Master’s degrees or equivalent in-service training certificates awarded in their fields. Inherent among the faculty is the belief that all students are endowed with special talent and teachers’ endeavors and enthusiasm in teaching make a difference. The student/faculty ratio is roughly 12:1.
2. Industrious Students: Annually, TGSH enrolls about 275 students from local junior high schools. With 9 classes for each grade level from 10th to 12th, we currently have a total enrollment of 822 students. Strong emphases have been put on character education and students are encouraged to participate in altruistic or volunteer work. The ambience of industrious learning is pervasive and interacting dynamics between people is warm and courteous.
3. Aesthetic Campus: The campus occupies approximately 75,510 square meters with a well-laid landscape and architecture aimed to incur lasting civilizing effect on its inhabitants.
4. Well-functioning Key Units: The school has been functioning well in the true sense of managerial term—Teachers Association, Alumni Service, and PTA all function smoothly.
5. Distinguished Performance: Last year, more than 93 percent of TGSH graduates passed the College Entrance Exams to become freshmen of colleges or universities. In addition, TGSH has 21 students’ clubs divided into 4 categories, including academic learning, fine arts, recreation, and sports. They cover a wide range of interesting activities providing students with ample intramural opportunities to develop diversified interests and potential. In recent years, the wind band and school choir have won a lot of titles in different fierce competitions.
6. Prompted Character and Moral Education: In order to provide suitable aids in incubating our students to be the ones with elegant disposition, optimistic personality, talent plus virtue, and diverse perspectives, we have thus spared no effort in building up the well-defined foundation for the development of our confident and joyfully learning TGSH students.
Principal and His Vision
Up till now (September 2021), TGSH has experienced 16 principals. The present principal, Mr. Wang, Yin has been in his position for over 2 years. Mr. Wang has exhibited competent leadership and steadfast dedication to achieving excellence. His vision for the development of TGSH is that it could become a school of: (A) students well-versed in humanities, natural science, and art literacy (B) clubs excelled in their vigorous diversities (C) remarkable college-admission rate so as to be a school of high performance yearned for by local junior high students.
Courses
Parallel to the fundamental regulations of a comprehensive high school, TGSH provides a wide range of package courses for students to choose from—courses such as academic natural sciences, academic liberal arts, applied information, applied foreign languages, baby nursing, and fine arts—all targeted to provide best suitable courses for students’ needs. Education guidance and career development are also highly stressed and executed in our school.
